Our Origin
It all began in 1966 when Ng Wah College was still called San Po Kong Catholic School. The then Primary School Principal of P.M. Session, Mr. Andrew Chan Kin Poon, made use of his past scouting experience and knowledge gained from the 1st Hong Kong Group (St. Joseph’s College) and started scout training of both Primary and Secondary students. The 140th Kowloon Group was officially registered on 10th February, 1966 and Mr. Chan became the first Group Scout Leader. |
| Mr. Chan stressed on the importance of traditional scout training and he believed that ‘Success is the Reflection of Competence’. His thought deeply influenced every generation of our scouts and leaders. Three decades on, something started as one man’s enthusiasm has continued to provide opportunities for self-improvement for many youngsters to come. Glory of championships and awards from District and Regional to Association levels formed an integral part of our history. |

Striding on
We proudly present ourselves as one of the oldest, if not the oldest, extra-curricular activities at Ng Wah College. Our history goes back 40 years when the School was used to be called San Po Kong Catholic School. Ng Wah College – Primary and Secondary, now called Ng Wah Catholic Primary School and Ng Wah Catholic Secondary School respectively, has faced many changes and challenges over the years, so have we. Nevertheless, we still strive to become better and stronger following the path set out by Founder of the World Scout Movement Lord Baden Powell and our very own Founder Mr. Andrew KP Chan. |
