THE BOY SCOUTS AND GIRL GUIDES.
The public is not being invited to see the meeting of the Prince and the Boy Scouts and Girl Guides. The only visitors will be the parents of a Chinese Boy Scout who is to be presented by His Royal Highness with a life-saving medal. It is to be quite an informal and jolly affair. “Wolf Cubs” and “Brownies” – which means junior boy scouts and girl guides – will be formed up in Government House Grounds. On arrival of the Prince, a “grand howl” will be given, and the older scouts and girl guides, who have been in hiding among the bushes will come out and form up on their respective colours. Later it is hoped that the Prince will have something to say to them, and he will also present the medal, already mentioned.
The luncheon that day at Government House will almost certainly be a quiet one. There will be no guests other than the Royal Party.
