THE CHIEF SCOUT
To Go On World Four
(Special Air Mail Service)
London, Sept. 22.
Lord Baden Powell, the Chief Scout, who has quite recovered from his serious illness of some months ago, has arranged a world tour which will last nearly ten months. He will hold a series of inspections all over the world, and in that way hopes to engender a feeling of comradeship among the boys of all nations.
“The Chief Scout is in very good health and is looking forward to the trip very much.” Lady Baden Powell told a reporter. “We shall sail from London on October 27 in the Orama, and hope to be back about the end of July in time for the big Rover meet which will take place in Sweden early in August next year.”
Lord and Lady Baden Powell will be accompanied by their two daughters. Inspections of Boy Scouts and Girl Guides will be held at Gibraltar, Toulon, Port Said, and Aden, and it is also planned to attend a rally at Colombo, the Australian world jamboree, to which Scouts from nearly forty nations have been invited, the Australian Rover Scout meet, and rallies in various parts of Canada, Nova Scotia and Newfoundland.
