SCOUTS BACK FROM JAMBOREE
Hongkong’s Scouts contingent to the world jamboree in Austria returned here this morning by RMS Corfu from England.
The group of seven Boy Scouts selected to represent the Colony at the jamboree – for the first time since 1912 – were welcomed aboard on their arrival by Rev. T.E. Gover, RN, Acting Colony Scout Commissioner.
Members of the 35th Kowloon presented to their colleague, Leung Yiu-ko, with a silver ornament to welcome his return.
Hale and hearty, the Hongkong Scouts expressed their joy to be “Home at last.”
Said 15 year old Ho Shiu-hei, of the 15th Hongkong Troop, who has been awarded the Gilt Cross for Gallantry by Lord Rowallan, Chief Scout, “Of all the places we have visited, Hongkong is the best – clean, neat and modern.”
A Grand Camp Fire will be held on October 6 at St Joseph’s College which will be the first official reception to be given to the Hongkong contingent.
“We will display all our souvenirs which we have collected during our tour,” remarked Contingent leader C.H.Hon.

大露營童軍返港
出席奧地利世界大露營的香港童軍代表團由英格蘭搭乘歌賦號郵輪(RMS Corfu)，並於今早返抵香港。
由7位童子軍組成之隊伍，是本港自1912年之首個大露營代表團，他們於抵步後得到署理香港總監顧華牧師 RN皇家海軍 (Rev. T.E.Gover)的迎接。
九龍第35旅的童軍亦有到場，為他們的代表梁耀高(Leung Yiu-ko)送上銀色飾物，以歡迎他的歸來。
童軍們皆興高彩烈，並一同高唱「終於回家」(Home at last)。
年僅15歲，獲總領袖羅華倫勳爵(Lord Rowallan)頒授英勇鍍金十字章(Gilt Cross for Gallantry)的香港第15旅童軍何兆熙(Ho Shiu-hei)表示，「由我們所到之處相比，香港，是最整潔、有序、現代的城市」。
為歡迎香港代表團而舉行之營火大會，將於10月6日在聖若瑟書院舉行，以正式歡迎他們的歸來。
代表團領隊韓志海(C.H.Hon)表示，「屆時我們將展示我們旅途所收集之紀念品」。
